San Vicente

Illi iti Balay iti Burgos

Barangay San Vicente is one of the fourteen (14) Barangays of Burgos. It is divided into seven Sitios namely: Arasaas, Bantay Bukel, Lubong, Capariaan, Pasao-Sao 1, Pasao-Sao 2 and Centro. It was gifted with a hidden paradise called “Sangbay Falls” found at Sitio Arasaas. The late Teodoro Braga was its first Barangay Captain on the year 1972. At present, Barangay San Vicente is headed by Punong Barangay Joselito V. Bruto who has been the Barangay Captain since year 2010.

Barangay San Vicente has started as a sitio of Barangay Anapao Burgos, Pangasinan headed by Kapitan del Barrio Ambrocio Odan who was the first leader.

Second Kapitan Del Barrio was Modesto Bonilla, next was Simoy Napolitano, 4th was the late Meanio Nacino. Eldefonso Bonilla was the 5th Kapitan del Barrio, on his time, people of Sitio San Vicente pursue that the said Sitio should have its own Barangay. It was then agreed that Barangay Anapao and Sitio San Vicente be separated by having a boundary, the Balingcaquing River. All residents beyond the Eastern part of the Balingcaquing River belong to Barangay Anapao and all residents beyond the Western part of Balingcaquing River belong to SanVicente. From then, Barangay Anapao and Sitio San Vicente had been separated and became two (2) Barangays.

In 1972, the first Barangay Captain of Barangay San Vicente was Teodoro Braga, during that time there was no plaza, chapel and barangay school. They celebrated their barangay fiesta at the rice field of Sitio Arasaas near Bantay Bukel, they made covered “pala-pala” with coconut leaves walling as chapel for community mass. After how many years they have constructed a little plaza made of cement at Sitio Arasaas, where they celebrated Barangay Fiesta every year.

The next elected Barangay Captain was Eulito Vidal. During his administration, there was an election of PTA president and the late Don Feliciano “Don Felli” Bruto was then elected as the PTCA president. On that time, they had organized/requested to build a community school which is the DON ANTONIO BONILLA COMMUNITY SCHOOL. The next OIC Barangay Captain was Arsenio Calizar, in replacement of Eulito Vidal for his termination. During his term they constructed Barangay Chapel on the Eastern corner of the plaza but now relocated construction portion of plaza.

Next Barangay Captain was Felomino Bruto. During his term, they constructed concrete road from rehabilitation to “Dalumpinas” and constructed the Barangay Hall.

Next Barangay Captain was Feliciano Bruto. On his term, they expanded the Barangay Hall, constructed concrete road from Capariaan to San Vicente Centro, concrete road from farm (irrigation) to “Tapaw“ and the relocation of the Barangay Chapel beside the school.

Next Barangay Captain was Arsenio Calizar. On his term, they continued the Barangay hall, constructed concrete road from Centro to Dalumpinas, concrete road from rehabilitation to Ex Brgy. Capt. Arsenio Calizar, additional installation of electrical post & wirings down to Arasaas, constructed waiting sheds near Salvador Maranion, near Arturo Maranion at Capariaan beside road and rice field at Sitio Pasao-Sao and Arasaas.

Next Barangay Captain was Judeth Bonode. On his term, the Barangay Plaza was expanded about 1.5 meters wide and renovated part of Barangay Hall. At that time, heirs of the late Don Feliciano Bruto donated the lot for the location of Barangay Plaza, Barangay Hall and Barangay Chapel.
